The Journey Begins
Jambo!
Welcome to the first newsletter of The Savior Project!!
Our nonprofit was founded after visiting Tanzania, and seeing, not only the need in East Africa, but also a huge opportunity to help! Our focus is currently in Zanzibar, an island off the coast of Tanzania, but we plan to help in other places as we grow and are able!
We’ve come a long way in the past year!! From blindly going to Africa as a tourist volunteer in March of 2024, to founding an official nonprofit in January, 2025!
April, 2025, will be my third trip to Zanzibar. Cofounder, Alicia, was there with two of her children in April, 2024!
We’ve already filled a need by supplying desks, textbooks and supplies. We’ve augmented teacher’s salaries, fed local families, spent hours teaching/volunteering, and immersed ourselves in the culture to better understand and strategize on how to help long term. There have been countless stories and miracles along the way! We can’t wait to share with you in the coming newsletters!
We are excited to continue to partner with the local Zanzibar School Director, Omar. He founded the Saviour Institute for Learning 6 years ago, and currently leads a team of 8 teachers and 105 students.
During our upcoming visit, by the grace of God, and the generosity of many kind people, we plan to buy land through the Saviour Institute for Learning in Zanzibar!!!!! Owning land will allow us to partner with the local community to build a larger school that includes a high school, reaching more children in the community, and better care for families in Zanzibar.
Thanks for your support and for following our journey!
